Toilet Bombs

As I was surfing the net, I found this recipe for Toilet Bombs. These are little bombs that you drop into the toilet bowl and like bath fizzies, they burst into bubbles and help to clean. The recipe I started with called for a cup and a half of baking soda, 1/2 cup of citric Acid and 30 drops of Lavender, Peppermint and Lemon essential oils. These were the starting ingredients:

So I got out the trusty mixing bowl and put all the ingredients into the bowl but it just came out a kind of sandy consistency. So I thought this was not going to work and I had the molds all ready to go. I use small ice cube trays to mold these as I wanted them to be smaller than a regular ice cube. I have had my trays for a long time and I also use them to store my bottles of essential oil. They are similar to this little green mold.HIC Silicone 18-Square Ice Cube Tray and Baking Mold, 9 by 4-1/4-Inch I like them because they do double duty for storage and molding.

So here was my dilemma, I had the molds ready to go, the recipe was all stirred up but it certainly did not look like it was going to mold right. This is when you have to experiment and innovate. I looked around the kitchen and spied my Thieves cleaner. This is one of the products I do buy from YoungLiving as I really like the Thieves cleaner and it goes a long way. You mix a couple tablespoons with water and you can use it to clean kitchen and bathroom. 983UTYJR (48) It looks like the photo once it is mixed up. So after spraying until it started to stick together, I pushed it into the molds and left them over night. If you do decide to purchase from youngliving, please use my number 1903324.
