I am a breast cancer survivor so a little cautious about deodorants. However, living in Florida, they are definately a requirement so I have searched and found a recipe for a Natural Deodorant. I found one so had to go to the pantry to see if I had all the ingredients and I had all but the arrowroot powder. Given that I wanted to make this today, I decided to find a good substitute.
The best one I could find was cornstarch so I am using that but ordering arrowroot for the next batch.
So here are the ingredients:
1/2 Tbsp baking soda
1/8 Cup cocoa Butter
1/8 cup organic arrowroot powder (substituted cornstarch)
1/8 cup organic shea butter
1 drop vitamin e oil
and 40 drops of essential oil (I used the 40 drops as I like a scent but you can use less if you so choose.
Instructions:
Combine cocoa butter and shea butter and put them in the top of your trusty double boiler to melt, Remove from the heat and stir in arrowroot powder (cornstarch) and baking soda. Stir in Vitamin E and essential oils. Pour into tins or jars and allow it to set. Use a small amount at first and let me know in the comments how it turned out for you.
