This is a recipe that I really enjoy making and sharing. It has a wonderful fragrance that is clean and refresing. It leaves a light lingering scent and just melts into the skin. It is really easy to make and one batch makes four 4-oz jars. I use Mason jars but use any you prefer. Decorate the Mason jars when finished with ribbons or lace or whatever you have in your sewing box or art treasure trove.
This is a very fluffy and light body butter. Here is what you will need to make this.
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup Shea butter
- Micorowave
- 3 TB carrier oil
- 15-20 drops essential oil
I really like this as I don’t even have to dig out the double boiler. Mix the coconut oil and Shea butter in a heat-proof bowl and microwave for about 90 seconds. Add the carrier oil and lime essential oil and stir to combine. Put the mixture in the frige for about 15 minutes until firm. Use a hand or stand mixer, whip the mixture at a low speed until peaks form. Spoon the mixture into the mason jars and store at room temperature.
As I said this is an easy, fun recipe and one that you will really enjoy. It also makes a really nice gift as most people enjoy the fresh lime scent.
