Already Tuesday and it seems the days fly by even though Monday is always that day we dread as it starts another week of work. Today I am thinking I would like a nice relaxing hot bath and then some really good lotion. For me the best essential oil for my lotions will always be Lavender but you may prefer another oil. Also combining one or two oils adds fragrance that is fun for experimentation. Today I am feeling a combination of Lavender and a citrus oil, maybe orange or lemon.
I whip the lotion as it helps to nourish the skin and enhance the wonderful scent of the oils.
The ingredients I am using today include:
1 1/2 cups of coconut oil
10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil (I had planned to use Orange but could not find it in the cabinet so will have to make sure to order some orange today.
I use a Hand Blender that I purchased at Kohl’s. I like Kohl’s as they always have the coupon days where you get a coupon for a certain purchase amount. Make sure the coconut oil is solid when you start to whip the oil.
Whip the coconut oil until you have stiff peaks and then add the essential oils and combine.Put this lotion in a jar. If you are planning to give this as a gift embellish the jar with fabric or ribbon and a nice label.
One comment about the products I use. I actually use the products that I post on this site and really do not promote any one over the other. Most of the time it is just what I have available when the mood strikes me to make something. You may have oils or coconut oil that you prefer, if not by checking on the links you will find other products as well. I do like the Eden’s oil I also have several products in the shop if you are interested in looking for other selections. I usually order from Amazon but you will find good information on some of the other sites such as Eden’s Garden. I would love to hear from you if you try my recipes and see what you use them for or something about your results.
